Landscape Management Workshop 2005
In the third week of August a "mustering fire" to our east made it up over the ranges and wiped out 100% of the feed we had saved for rationing out to our working herd over the next four months...
Three days of fighting fire did enable us to save our irreplaceable patch of remnant rainforest and a portion of our main model area. We are still in a position to give people a first-hand impression of what is achievable in this arid landscape of ours...
The workshop-format will change to accommodate our new situation.
Day one: will begin with Introductions, Breakfast and a diagnosis of what took place in the Alligator Creek water-shed area. At noon we will relocate to the main model area.
Once back at base camp, presentations and discussions will be woven into field walks and practical demonstrations. These will take us through to the end of Day Two.
Day Three will largely be spent in addressing issues raised during the first two days and then a wrap-up session.
